Perennial Allergies

Do you suffer from allergies all year long? Transdermal allergy cream is designed to treat the most common perennial allergies like dust mites, molds, cockroach and mouse.

Year-round allergies, referred to as perennial allergies, are the result of your body reacting to airborne substances that are present throughout the year indoors. You may experience these allergies at any point during the year or all year long. Symptoms may be exacerbated during winter months when many people spend more of their time indoors. The most common perennial allergy is an allergy to house dust. House dust may contain a number of substances which can cause allergies such as mold spores, dust mite droppings, cockroach droppings, and animal dander.

Symptoms

The most common symptom of perennial allergies is a chronically stuffy nose. Nasal inflammation may be accompanied by runny nose, sneezing, and itching in your nose, the roof of your mouth, throat, eyes or ears. Additional symptoms may include chronic ear infections or sinus infections as well as nasal polyps (growths inside the nose).

Prevention

Steps can be taken to reduce or minimize the effects of indoor allergens. One of the primary targets for prevention is the bedroom. Special allergen-proof fabric covers or airtight plastic covers can be used to cover mattresses, box springs and pillows. A bedding should be washed weekly in hot water (130° F) and dried in a hot dryer. Additionally, allergens can be reduced by keeping humidity low in the house. This can be done by using a dehumidifier or air conditioning. Any wall-to-wall carpeting should be avoided if possible. Throw rugs are a better choice and should be regularly washed or dry cleaned.

Cockroaches can be minimized by sealing any water drips or leaks, sealing food in airtight containers, and sweeping and vacuuming after all meals. Indoor molds can be minimized by using dehumidifiers and repairing and sealing and leaks in roofing or piping. Installing ventilation in bathrooms and basements can also be effective.

Treatment

Despite our best efforts to minimize allergens they are often unavoidable. Our transdermal allergy cream (transdermal allergy immunotherapy) is designed to desensitize you to the most common perennial allergens by exposing you to small amounts of the pure allergen extracts on a regular basis so that your body may stop reacting to exposure in the environment. Simply rub the allergy cream on three times/week. That's it!

Seasonal Allergies

Do you suffer from allergies in the spring, summer or fall? Transdermal allergy cream is designed to treat the most common seasonal allergies in you region, including pollens from trees, grasses and weeds.

Seasonal allergies, sometimes referred to as hay fever, are the result of your body reacting to airborne pollens from various trees, grasses and weeds that release their pollens predominately in the spring, summer and fall. You may experience symptoms in one of these seasons or all three depending on which pollens you react to. The most common seasonal allergies are to pollens from trees, grasses and weeds.

Symptoms

Symptoms of seasonal allergies include runny or stuff nose, sneezing, sinus infections, headaches, ear infections, watery and/or itchy eyes, coughing, wheezing, irritability and difficulty sleeping. These symptoms vary with the season and the allergies that come with it: spring is primarily tree pollens, summer is primarily grass pollens, and fall is primarily weed pollens.

Prevention

Avoidance of outdoor pollens is challenging but some steps can be taken to minimize the impact. Limiting outdoor activities during flareups as well as tracking daily pollen counts can be helpful. Additionally, allergy sufferers should shower and wash clothes after coming home to help remove outdoor pollens from hair and clothes and prevent them from entering the home as much as possible.

Sinus irrigation with a neti pot or similar device can help flush pollens from the nasal cavities and reduce symptoms as well.

Allergies to Pets

Is your dog or cat causing you constant sniffling and sneezing? Transdermal allergy cream is designed to treat allergies to both dogs and cats.

Allergies to pets are the result of your body reacting to allergens found in the saliva and dander (dead skin flakes) of your cat or dog. This means that there really are no hypoallergenic cats or dogs because you aren't reacting to the pets hair.

Symptoms

Symptoms of allergies to pets commonly include sneezing, stuffiness, a runny nose, or itchiness in your nose, the roof of your mouth, throat, eyes or ears.

Prevention

Giving up a beloved pet can be a very difficult decision so many owners may look to other options before going to that extreme. Keeping your pet outdoors can reduce symptoms, but homes with pets in the yard still have higher concentrations of animal allergens than those that don't. Minimizing contact by keeping your pet out of bedrooms or areas that are most frequented. Regular vacuuming or removing carpeting can also be helpful.
